New connections

Relationships, people and feeling connected are at the heart of everything you do, and feeling useful and needed feeds your zest for life. Time spent with most people boosts your mood, but be aware that you can also absorb other peopleโ€™s emotional energy. When someone is leaning on you for support, even if youโ€™re happy to be there for them, over time it can take its toll on your energy levels.
Conflict or miscommunication between people you care about can undermine you both physically and mentally. You may also feel flat if you spend too much time on social media โ€“ thereโ€™s nothing more emotionally undermining for you than feeling like an outsider. You tend to be in the moment when youโ€™re with people, but it might help to take a step back, check in with how youโ€™re feeling and assess which social interactions are most likely to drain or revitalise you.
When you give 100 per cent to the people in your life, it can leave little space to reflect on whether you have the right balance. Even confirmed extroverts can feel depleted by social connections that feel inauthentic or one-sided. And donโ€™t forget you thrive on getting to know people and seeing a relationship develop โ€“ how can you ensure there is space for new connections in your life?
