How social media creates rose-tinted memories
Is social media affecting your perception of memories?
Scrolling through social media feeds, youโll notice that people mostly post photographs of happy events. A new study says that this could be altering our memories.
The research, by safe.co.uk, reveals over a third of us are affected by insecurities when we look through other peopleโs photos on social media, with 25-34 year olds feeling the pressure most.
It found that 89 per cent of people agree they only post their best photos but, when we look back, this could be creating โfalse happy memoriesโ. The study also highlights the pressure this puts on people to live up to a potentially false idea of reality.
