Horst: Photographer of Style
This new exhibition will feature some of the best known photographs alongside unpublished and rarely exhibited vintage prints from one of the 20th century's most famous fashion and portrait photographers
From beautiful nudes to whimsical surrealism, haute couture to travel; master photographer Horst P. Horst (1906-1999) had a fantastic 60-year career, which is now being celebrated in Horst: Photographer of Style, an inspiring exhibition at the V&A museum in London.
Born in Germany, Horst (who later became an American citizen) worked predominantly in Paris and New York, joining Vogue in 1931.
His extraordinary range of work outside the photographic studio conveys a relentless visual curiosity and life-long desire for new challenges.
Running until 4 January 2015, the exhibition will feature prints, drawings, notebooks, scrapbooks and letters, alongside thousands of prints from the archives of Condรฉ Nast.
