10 Books You Have to Read for a Mindset for Success in 2020

Wondering about which books you should add to your reading list next?

This is a list of the books that have had a bigger impact on my mindset, well-being and happiness.

If you want to be more successful, fulfilled and joyful this year, you can’t miss the knowledge in these books!

1. Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway – Susan Jeffers

Fear is one of the major blocks to succeed. It prevents us from trying new things, taking risks and makes us overthink and worry too much. This book is based on the idea that when we know we have internal resources to deal with anything that might happen, there’s nothing to fear. Very practical book with lots of simple but powerful ideas to implement.

2. The Four Agreements – Don Miguel Ruiz

This book is short and sweet, easy to read and packed with powerful teachings. It explains how we could avoid suffering and any source of unhappiness if we followed the following principles:

Be impeccable with your word.

Don’t take anything personally.

Don’t make assumptions.

Always do your best.

After only one week of implementing these ideas I already started to feel more peaceful and less stressed!

3. Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill

What can I say about this book that hasn’t been said before? Napoleon Hill is a must in your library. He was a visionary in the field of personal development. If you are all about achieving goals, success and money this year this is the first book you need to read!

4. Becoming Supernatural – Joe Dispenza

Interested in meditation, spirituality, vision boards or even improving your health using the power of your mind? This is the best book I’ve ever read about how meditation can impact our body. Dispenza uses years of scientific research to explain the mysteries of thoughts, meditation and the law of attraction. Where others  have failed to describe these topics and sound too ‘mystical’, he explains the science behind them with simple words that anyone can understand.

5. Optimised Woman – Miranda Gray

Attention, this book is an ABSOLUTE MUST READ for women, but it should also be read by MEN!!!

It completely changed my life and how I feel about being a woman. Now I can say I understand femininity and our changes during our cycle. Not only I finally understood what happens to our body/energy/mood/emotions/cravings, now I’m able to use it in my favour! This book is a real game changer for women, and if you are a man dating a woman, these 200 pages will definitely help you understand your partner and dramatically improve your relationship.

6. Embracing Uncertainty – Susan Jeffers

Another one from Susan Jeffers, I must confess I’m a big fan of her! If you are always worrying about what’s going to happen next or need to have everything under control, this one is for you. The book is packed with simple but powerful exercises you can start practising as you read. One of my favourite ones has to be the one where you have to rephrase all your “I Hope this happens” with “I wonder if this will happen”. I still use it and I find it extremely useful when I’m too worried about the outcome of a particular situation.

7. The War of Art – Steven Pressfield

Is procrastination one of the monster you want to defeat this year? Look no further, this is the book you need. It has some hard pills to swallow but it will definitely boost your motivation. It is a source of inspiration for anyone struggling to be productive, start any habits and specially for those creating and producing content. Bye-bye procrastination!

8. Ikigai – Hector Garcia

In a small island in Japan, the percentage of people who live more than 100 years is significantly higher than in any other part of the world. The author travelled to this island to analyse the locals’ habits. In this book, he shares with us the secrets to a healthier and happier life. Besides a healthy diet and regular exercise, one of the secrets is what Japanese call Ikigai, which would be similar to having a purpose in life, even when people retire. Very interesting book with many habits we can add to our day-to-day lives!

9. Developing Intuition – Shakti Gawain

Intuition is the wisest part of ourselves. It’s that inner voice, that gut feeling that you know something but you can’t put into words or explain with logical arguments. It is not easy to develop good connection with that part of ourselves, and it takes time to distinguish intuition from impulses, cravings, thoughts or someone else’s opinion.

This is a super short book with some simple concepts and exercises to start experimenting.

10. The Great Work of Your Life – Stephen Cope

This book is one of the latest ones I’ve read and it’s been very special for me as it’s all about finding your ‘dharma’, a concept that could be simplified as ‘purpose in life’, although it’s way bigger. Having experienced a dramatic career change during the last few years, this booked answered many questions I had about the concept of life purpose. If you’re unsatisfied with your career and feel like you should be doing something completely different, I would strongly recommend you read this book.
