Memoir Workshop with Damian Barr

EVENT 04/07/13

Everybody has a story to tell, however seemingly ordinary or extraordinary your life is. This intensive two-hour workshop with columnist, writer and playwright Damian Barr, will encourage you to dramatise your life story and give it literary potential by casting yourself as the central character and focusing on the specific emotional challenges of remembering. The evening includes a reading from Damian’s new book, Maggie & Me (Bloomsbury, £14.99), a Q&A session and a drinks reception.

Damian Barr is an author, journalist and the host of the Literary Salon at Shoreditch House. He is the author of Get It Together: A Guide to Surviving Your Quarterlife Crisis (Hodder), featured on Richard & Judy. His memoir Maggie & Me, will be a Radio 4 Book of the Week.

Join us on Thursday 4 July, drinks at 6pm and workshop from 6.30pm until 8.30pm, at Bloomsbury Publishing, 50 Bedford Square, London WC1B 3DP.

Tickets £25. Book yours at: bloomsburyinstitute.com
